The day dawned to reveal heavy grey clouds and a wet cityscape. A cold and raw morning. The overnight rain, which started around 3 am, seems to have ceased for the moment. The darling cats ask to go outside but then immediately refuse once they see the state of the weather.

The Cold Creeps In
Very chilly start to the morning, the temperature was down to 44°F. Cold in the house for the first time since last winter. I wish we could have a fire. The sky seems extra clear and bright after yesterday’s dark and stormy weather.

October 13, 2025 It’s a chilly Monday morning, still half-dark around 7:30 am. More fog over the river valley. The air has a weird unpleasant smell that I’ve always associated with some kind of pork or sausage factory. This city is known as “Porkopolis” after all. It could also be coming from a local brewery. Long grey clouds adorn the pale blue sky. Partial clearing now and the sun is peeking between the clouds. The weather radar is splattered with small patches of green, so it may start raining again at any moment. The forecast is saying […]
Continue readingFog Over the River Valley
September 29, 2025 The blanket of fog over the river valley has long since burned off. It’s another clear and sunny day. A bit warm (87°F), but still nice. October is just a day away so I am sure cooler temperatures will be here soon. Maybe then it will start to feel like fall. Summer here in Ohio seems to drag on and on forever, sometimes skipping over autumn entirely and going straight from summer […]
